The tiny branch on the basis of a great destination

Many years ago a sailor of a merchant ship sailing from England to India, got bored with endless journeys and stopped on Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, on the foot of Teide Mount where everyone grew grapes. Unlike his neighbors, he planted the tiny tea branch brought by himself from the last journey, which had to be the start of a big plantation and his own business.bThe sailor spared no effort to take care of the plant and very soon he saw the result. The tea branch adapted to the local nature and years later it turned into a huge bush. The sailor didn’t manage to realize his dream. That tea bush remained the only one in Teide and withered soon after the sailor’s death.

And nevertheless…

The sailor’s desire came true. On returning to England his grandchildren set up a tea-producing company and named it “Teida”. In the course of years, from a small family business, “Teida” turned into a great company, which is engaged in the import and export of tea all over the world.
